The Clinton Public Safety Department is a consolidated Public Safety Department comprised of Fire, Police, and Animal Control.
Clinton’s public safety system employees are cross-trained as firefighters and police officers to provide multiple services to the city, patrolling the city and ensuring the safety of all citizens in all situations. Public safety officers work on rotating 12-hour shifts to provide adequate protection to the city at all times, day and night.
During a recent survey, Insurance Services Office (ISO) analyzed Clinton’s structural fire suppression delivery system to determine the its current classification. Effective August 1, 2016, the city’s (ISO) rating will improve to a 2, with 10 being the worst and 1 being the best.
Because insurance companies use ISO ratings to determine what to charge for property insurance, this new rating will save money for businesses and homeowners inside and outside the Clinton city limits.
