Clinton is an ideal location for sports and haven for outdoor enthusiasts with many nearby lakes and rivers, hiking trails, national forests, hunting areas, and golf courses. The city of Clinton is home to a YMCA and a variety of indoor recreational activities.
Golf: Musgrove Mill, an Arnold Palmer World Class Championship Course is located in Clinton, and there are more than 50 golf courses in the upstate within a short drive. Augusta, home of The Masters, is only a couple of hours away.
Water Activities & RVing: Private and public lakes are numerous, including nearby Lake Greenwood with over 200 miles of shoreline, and Lake Rabon. The Enoree and Saluda Rivers provide excellent fishing, boating. Cane Creek Motorcoach Resort, an RVing location is situated on twelve rolling acres on the shore of Lake Greenwood, and Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Hilton Head also make ideal weekend getaways.
Auto Racing: Laurens Speedway is only 10 minutes away and offers auto racing from April through September. A short drive puts you at Darlington International Raceway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, or Charlotte Motor Speedway in time to see the flag drop.
Hunting / Skeet Shooting: Clinton House Plantation offers duck, whitetail deer and turkey hunts in addition to shooting clays, corporate meeting and conference facilities. Other hunting opportunities are available on private lands or tracts leased by hunting clubs.
Parks & Skiing: Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains are easy drives, and in Laurens County (where Clinton is located) there are 12 parks with playground equipment and recreational opportunities. For skiing enthusiasts, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Ober Gatlinburg are only a short drive away from Clinton.
Spectator Sports: Clinton High School and Presbyterian College support baseball, football, basketball, and soccer teams. SEC and ACC college sports are only an hour away at Clemson University and the University of South Carolina. Nearby in Greenville you’ll find minor league baseball and hockey, plus professional sports teams in Charlotte and Atlanta.
