Groundbreaking celebrations honoring construction of the I-26 Commerce Park in Clinton, which runs alongside Highway 72, were held Monday, June 27.
The industrial location groundbreaking was for a second site, a 150,000 square foot pad which joins a 100,000 square foot pad that has already been constructed. The new industrial building pad is expected be ready in late July or early August, and construction of 75,000 square foot spec building will follow. A road will be constructed into the park, opening all 700 acres for development.
Partners in the new Industrial Park include Pacolet Milliken, the real estate firm founded by Roger Milliken that owns the land along with Santee Cooper, Laurens Electric, the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Laurens County Development Corporation.
Commerce Park is the only Class A Industrial Park currently available in Laurens County.
