Clinton to Build 60,000 Sq. Ft. Spec Building
According to the Clinton Economic Development Corporation, the economic development arm of City of Clinton, a second Clinton Spec Building is underway in Clinton 26 Commerce Park. The 60,000 Sq. Ft. building will be located on a site which is located 0.1 miles from Exit 54 on I-26. The site is a 10 acre site with a 100,000 Sq. Ft. pre-compacted building pad in place. Global Manufacturer Picks Piedmont Tech Facility as U.S. Training Site
It started quietly at first. A low buzz, numerous meetings, contract development and ― finally ― the arrival of the first three IRB 140 robots to the Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) in Laurens. This spring marked the official launch of a partnership between PTC and ABB, a leading supplier of industrial robots that serves 53 countries around the world.
New Clinton City Manager Selected
Following several months that included a nationwide search, hours of resume and candidate research, and multiple interviews, City Council has authorized Risk Management and Human Resource Director Robin Entrekin to enter into contract negotiations with Mr. Bill Ed Cannon, who currently resides in Wildwood, FL.
When contract details are finalized and Mr. Cannon is officially hired as Clinton’s newest City Manager, Mr. Canon will relocate to Clinton and begin work shortly after the first of the year.
GE Renewable Energy Selects Clinton, SC for New Test Facility

Schenectady, NY – June 28, 2017 – GE Renewable Energy today announced that it has selected Clinton, South Carolina for a new research and development facility.
The $29 million facility will be used to test prototype bearing designs and evaluate next generation bearing technology for the GE’s Onshore Wind business. The new facility will be located at 19267 SC-72, Clinton, SC, and begin operation by the end of the year.
Groundbreaking on New Industrial Location

Groundbreaking celebrations honoring construction of the I-26 Commerce Park in Clinton were held Monday, June 27.
This industrial park also runs alongside Highway 72.
Commerce Park is the only Class A Industrial Park currently available in Laurens County.
